On leaving the aircraft, foreign students have to go through custom controls in the airport before they can enter France.
Documents to be shown off :
- passport or identity documents
- visa (for students coming from outside the European Union)
- travel ticket
- currency
You must also explain why you are coming to France and show the supporting documents attesting to this:
- resource conditions;
- preliminary enrolment in your chosen establishment;
- etc.
Essential furnishing and materials
You may bring with you materials which are essential for your studies and also for furnishing your room. In this case you must present to Customs:
- a school attendance certificate
- a detailed list of your possessions, dated and signed (two copies)
- a certificate from the head of the establishment indicating the date of the start of classes
- a form for objects and furnishings of value
Things you are not allowed to bring into France:
Be very careful about what you bring with you. You are not allowed to enter France with:
- counterfeit goods, luxury brand imitations;
- weapons;
- animals;
- endangered species of wildlife and plant life;
- archaeological objects;
- etc.
