Direct enrolment request for a Master’s degree

If you want to continue your studies with a Master’s degree without going via a European exchange programme or the Campus Networks, you must apply directly to the universities concerned and complete their pre-enrolment dossiers.

Where can I find the pre-enrolment dossiers

On the site of the universities or establishments or by contacting them directly. While some establishments let you complete your dossier online, you may also need to ask for the dossier to be sent to you and then return the pre-enrolment dossier by post to the university in France.

Can I apply to several higher education establishments?

Yes! To have a better chance of being accepted somewhere, why not applying several times? Important: the supporting documents required and the admission criteria may differ from one establishment to another. If you do not hold a DALF or TCF, you will probably need to sit a French language test determined by the university.

In all cases you must provide:

• a covering letter;
• a copy of your birth certificate with a French translation;
• a copy of your diplomas and an official sworn translation in French;
• a copy of your academic results for the previous 2 years.

When will the establishments let you know their decision?

Between 15th June and 15th September for courses starting in October…  That may not leave you much time to prepare your trip! 

Tip:

at the same time as making your application, also contact the French Embassy in your country to prepare the administrative formalities for your trip. Don’t wait until you receive a positive reply to collect all the documents needed for your dossiers because in some cases you may need to act very fast to complete all the formalities (student visa application, repatriation insurance, translation of all your official documents, etc.).
